Christmas 2016
Happy Christmas!
Our Christmas concert was another success. We raised £625 to be split between the Epilepsy Society and St. Nicholas Church.
Our audiences are very generous!
We were delighted to have the Fleckney Silver Band join us for the evening. You really can't beat hearing a band play In The Bleak Midwinter at Christmas.
Sing! worked very hard to learn a nice selection of songs and carols. We started with 3 Christmas number ones that didn't mention Christmas: Only You, Mad World and Stay Another Day. We then moved on to other Christmas hits like Walking In The Air, Let It Snow and Daisy, a PurplePig Music singing student, joined with us to take the lead on the Pentatonix's That's Christmas To Me. The second half of the concert involved versions of more traditional carols like Bob Chilcott's Mid-Winter, Kate Silber's O Little Town and a version of Joy To The World with my own added section, expertly sang by one of our members, Linda.
Other members of the choir took solos as well which were all beautiful. Anyone who stands up and performs is extremely brave!
PurplePig Music students Jess and Isobel also played piano pieces and Cat and I sang Chris Tomlin's Noel.
Have a lovely Christmas and let's see what 2017 brings!
